Where do Tottenham need to strengthen in the transfer window? And which players will they be after? We take a look...

We consider Mauricio Pochettino's potential transfer targets and see what the manager has had to say about his plans for the summer.

Meanwhile, we also have expert opinion on what areas of their squad Spurs need to address…

What do they need?

Sky Sports pundit Matt Le Tissier: "I would suggest that they need somebody a little bit closer to Harry Kane's standard as a back up, rather than Vincent Janssen, but the challenge is finding somebody who will be happy to play second fiddle.

"I quite like Spurs' midfield and I don't see too much improvement being made their, with good options throughout.

"If they can keep hold of their full-backs then they're all good in that department, but I think it will be difficult for Kyle Walker to stay if the offer is astronomical and I think it would be tough for Spurs to turn down as well given Kieren Trippier's form.

Walker is decent but at 27 it is the right time to cash in on him as his value will start to plummet and we know Spurs like to get top dollar, so Spurs will probably need to go out and replace him.

"I really would like to see that team kept together otherwise because it is a side which can capable of fighting for the title again."

What has the manager said?

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino: "It is so difficult. People say: 'If Tottenham are in the Champions League, it will be more attractive.'

Who should Tottenham sign?

Spurs will look to bolster their squad this summer, but who should they recruit? Vote here...

"But then it's all about if you pay or not! When we talk about top players, we have unbelievable facilities but if another club is paying double the salary, then how can you convince them? Do you agree? We cannot lie to you.

"That is the reality. You need younger players, like Dele Alli, who preferred to come here rather than go to another club. We took a big risk on Alli and now he is a massive player, one of the most important in England. But who took the risk? We did."

Who will they target?

Spurs have focused on pinning down their key players to long-term contracts over the past couple of seasons, though one area they are expected to strengthen is out on the wing.

Moussa Sissoko has proved a £30m flop after joining from Newcastle last season, and Spurs have been linked with Douglas Costa of Bayern Munich and Leicester's Demarai Gray in a bid to better-fill that gap.
