A host of Premier League clubs will be willing to take a gamble on Emmanuel Adebayor following his release from Tottenham, according to The Sun's Charlie Wyett.
Adebayor's attritional spell at Spurs came to an end on Sunday when his contract was cancelled by mutual consent, thereby ending four years at White Hart Lane.
The focus now turns to the next chapter in Adebayor's career and, speaking on the Sunday Supplement, Wyett believes a number of managers will back themselves to rekindle the striker's best form, although he feels the gamble would turn out to be a fruitless venture.
"Someone will give him another chance, because they always do," Wyett said.
"Managers always think they can get the best out of players with a history, like Brendan Rodgers' desperate decision to bring Mario Balotelli to Anfield.
"There will be another manager, maybe in this country, who is desperate and feels Adebayor may be worth a gamble.
"He'll walk into another team in the Premier League or the Middle East and, after some great performances and spectacular goals, he'll be back on the bench frustrated and angry with his coach. That is the cycle."
Adebayor was excluded from Spurs' Premier League and Europa League squads for the 2015/16 season, as boss Mauricio Pochettino made it clear the striker did not have a future at the club.
And Wyett believes Adebayor's inability, or unwillingness, to resolve issues with coaches throughout his career has ultimately cost him his place at Spurs.
"Clearly Pochettino wanted him out and Spurs had to get him out of the club," Wyett added.
"He is such an infuriating player. We've seen it so many times with Adebayor, under a new manager or at a new club he looks great - everything you would want a top striker to be.
"But, as we know, talent is one thing and mental strength is another.
"All players have disagreements, fall out with their coaches or have a difference of opinion. I don't think Adebayor has the mental strength or even the will to overcome the difficult spells."
