Goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Rolando Aarons earned Newcastle United a 2-1 friendly victory over Lillestrom in Spain on Saturday.

The pair struck in either side of the break at La Manga training facility as the Magpies ended a five-day warm-weather training camp with the triumph.

Newcastle's top scorer this season, Wijnaldum, got Steve McClaren's side off to the perfect start, latching on to Ayoze Perez's reverse pass on three minutes before rounding onrushing Lillestrom goalkeeper Arnold Origi.

A comfortable afternoon for the Premier League strugglers appeared on the cards but their Norwegian opponents had other ideas, equalising within five minutes through Bassel Jradi.
