City originally had until 6pm on Wednesday to respond but requested extra time because the people who would usually handle the issue are busy with dealing with Deadline Day transfers.

The FA has acceded to Manchester City's request and the club now have until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charge, which carries an automatic three-match ban.

A suspension would rule Aguero out of City's Manchester derby against United at Old Trafford on September 10, which will be live on Sky Sports.
