Fulham have signed Sporting Lisbon striker Zakaria Labyad on loan for the rest of the season.

Labyad is a 22-year-old Netherlands-born forward who has three caps for Morocco.

Labyad has struggled to break into Sporting's first-team and has been playing for their B team instead.

He signed from PSV Eindhoven, where he came through the youth ranks, in 2012.

In January 2014, Labyad returned to the Netherlands to join Vitesse on an 18-month loan deal, during which time he helped the club to consecutive top-six finishes by netting 12 times.

He made a number of appearances for the Netherlands at youth level but later switched his allegiance to Morocco, who he also represented in the Olympics at London 2012.

Fulham can only loan players because they are under a transfer embargo during the current window, having fallen foul of financial fair play.
