Arsenal teenager Stephy Mavididi will miss the rest of the season after tearing his hamstring while on loan at Charlton.

Mavididi sustained the injury during the Addicks' 1-0 defeat at home to Bury on Saturday and he has now returned to Arsenal for treatment.

The 18-year-old forward underwent a scan and is expected to be out for at least three months.

"He saw a specialist and he's set for an operation at the start of next week, but it will keep him out for between 14 to 16 weeks," said Charlton boss Karl Robinson.

"He's been in tears which is sickening because he's been tremendous for us and we wish him all the best.
