The summer transfer window opens on Friday with clubs up and down the country officially able to do business.

Ahead of what's set to be a captivating 63 days of speculation, suspense and spending, here's all you need to know about the summer transfer window...

When does the transfer window open?

The 2017 summer transfer window opens on Friday, June 9 for English clubs.

When does the transfer window close?

The 2017 summer transfer window in England and Scotland will shut at 11pm on Thursday, August 31 - two-and-a-half-weeks into the Premier League season.

Do European leagues have different dates?

The transfer window in France also opens on June 9, while the Germany and Italy windows open on July 1.

The windows in Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga all close on the same day as the Premier League window on Thursday, August 31.

What about China?

The Chinese transfer window opens on June 19 and clubs can do business up until September 14. Could Diego Costa, John Terry or Wayne Rooney make a Super League move? Watch this space.
