Live Championship and EFL Cup games announced on Sky Sports

Aston Villa's trip to Luton in the EFL Cup first round will be shown live on Sky Sports, while the second weekend of live Sky Bet Championship fixtures have also been announced.

Villa, whose opening Sky Bet Championship game at Sheffield Wednesday will also be live on Sky Sports, travel to Kenilworth Road for a 7.45pm kick-off on Wednesday, August 10 in the newly-branded EFL Cup. 

Cardiff's trip to Bristol Rovers 24 hours later will also be shown live on Sky Sports, while the English Football League also announced an additional two live games for the second weekend of the Sky Bet Championship season.

Nottingham Forest's trip to the south coast to face Brighton will be live on Friday, August 12 for a 7.45pm kick-off, before Norwich host play-off finalists Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, August 13 for a 5.30pm kick-off.

For the first time, viewers will be able to enjoy regular live coverage of Premier League matches on Friday nights in addition to those shown on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and Monday Night Football.

In another first, viewers in the Republic of Ireland will be able to enjoy live coverage of the Premier League in a regular slot on Saturday afternoons at 3pm. 

And an expanded mobile clips service delivered by the Sky Sports' Football Score Centre app will enable users to enjoy more highlights of Premier League and Football League matches on their phones on match days.
