Fan's view - Nicholas Marsh

Expectation: A play off push would be the dream! The reality and expectation has to be to build on last season, with the players we've brought in so far and assuming we don't lose any of our big players then we can definitely finish mid-table. A better start than last season is crucial! If City can carry on the momentum from the second half of last season then there's no reason why the club can't look at mid table or even higher. I'd hope we're good enough to finish around 11th.

Most important player: Jonathan Kodjia - Every player is important but the reality is that without his 20 goals last year we could have been starting this season in League One. Of course Lee Tomlin is a massive signing for us but we really can't afford to lose Kodjia at any cost.

Who will win the league: Newcastle

Dark horse: Nottingham Forest

One Championship player you'd want to sign: Tom Ince (Derby) - but that's mainly so he'd finally stop scoring against us!

Ollie's prediction: 10th

I can see the club making great strides this season. City's new stadium could do wonders for their home form. It will also have a huge effect on their budget as they'll be able to attract more fans through the gate. The people of Bristol will completely relish the challenge that clubs like Aston Villa, Newcastle will provide them.

Sky Bet odds

Bristol City are twice as likely to be face relegation as they are to secure promotion according to Sky Bet, with the EFL sponsor offering them at 6/1 to go down and 12/1 to be playing Premier League football next season. A top-half finish would be deemed an achievement according to the odds at 5/4, while they are given a 9/2 chance of making the play-offs. The Robins are 7/5 to begin their campaign with a victory over Wigan (19/10) and 20/1 to win all of their first three games in Sky Bet's Bristol City specials.
