David Wagner says Huddersfield deserve to be top of the table

David Wagner admits "it's a surprise" his Huddersfield team stand atop the Championship table in early September.
However, the Terriers boss says their performances so far this season have merited such a lofty position in the standings.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday's trip to Brighton, the former Borussia Dortmund coach told Sky Sports News HQ: "Maybe only Newcastle can expect to have a lot of points on the table after six games.
"We have 16 after six and nobody expected it. It's a surprise but the important thing is that we have deserved all 16 points.
"It gives us confidence but it's still early days."
Huddersfield's closest challengers are Newcastle, four points adrift of the Yorkshire leaders, while Brighton are in mid-table with eight points.
Wagner feels the south coast club, which narrowly missed out on automatic promotion in May, will be a major threat during the on-going campaign.
He added: "They will be one of the best teams this season, for sure. They have a good manager, so it's a tough, tough test."
