Burton and Fulham receive double nominations in April's EFL Championship awards

Burton Albion have secured double nominations in the April Sky Bet Championship monthly awards with manager Nigel Clough and defender John Brayford in the frame.

Fulham also have a manager and a player among the nominees, with Slavisa Jokanovic and midfielder Stefan Johansen recognised for the club's fine end to the season.

Clough achieved the task of keeping Burton in the Sky Bet Championship and secured wins over promotion chasers Huddersfield and Leeds as they collected 11 points from seven games.

Brayford epitomised Burton's battling spirit with telling contributions all month, making goal-line clearances against Huddersfield and Aston Villa and another vital block late on at Barnsley.

Competing with Clough for the managerial award are Sheffield Wednesday's Carlos Carvalhal, Lee Johnson of Bristol City and Fulham's Jokanovic.

Wednesday cantered into the play-offs with 19 points from seven unbeaten games, while City won four out of five to secure Championship football for another season.

Fulham collected 16 points and scored 17 goals in the seven games they played during the month.

They are also doubly represented in the nominations, with Johansen, who scored four goals from midfield during April, on the shortlist.

Joining him are Reading striker Yann Kermogant - who scored seven goals in seven games during April - and Brighton forward Glenn Murray, whose opening goals in the wins over Blackburn, Birmingham, QPR and Wigan were vital as his club earned promotion to the Premier League.
