With the Sky Bet Championship season reaching its halfway mark this weekend, we take a look at the top 10 players in the division so far in 2017/18.

10. Albert Adomah, Aston Villa

With Aston Villa suffering a striker shortage in the first half of the season, Adomah has stepped in with some vital goals to fire the club into play-off contention. His 10 goals so far have put him well on the way to beating his previous best of 12 for a campaign.

9. Leo Bonatini, Wolves

The focal point of Wolves' fierce attacking trident, Bonatini has proved a revelation on loan from Al-Hilal. His 12 goals this season put him behind only Leon Clarke (14) in the Championship rankings, while he also has five assists to his name.

8. James Maddison, Norwich

7. Ollie Watkins, Brentford

Watkins has made the jump from League Two to the Championship look easy, with seven goals for Brentford so far. He also has created 40 chances for his team-mates and no one in the division has managed more.

6. Luke Freeman, QPR

QPR may be struggling in the lower reaches of the table, but that has done nothing to diminish the performances of midfielder Freeman. He has more touches of the ball so far this season (1,409) than anyone else in this top 10.

5. Bobby Reid, Bristol City

Reid had scored seven league goals in his entire Bristol City career before this season, but has already managed 10 so far to help fire the club right up into the promotion battle.

4. Junior Hoilett, Cardiff

Former Blackburn and QPR winger Hoilett has been reborn under Neil Warnock at Cardiff, and he has been a key part of their season so far, scoring six times and laying on five assists.

3. Sol Bamba, Cardiff

And Hoilett's team-mate Bamba comes in just above him in the rankings and is also the only defender in the top 10. He has kept nine clean sheets, made 55 tackles, won 83 aerial battles and made 13 blocks this season.

2. George Saville, Millwall

Saville has been a standout player for Millwall since joining in the summer. He has scored seven goals, made 58 tackles and won 66 aerial battles, which show the all-round impact he's had.

1. Diogo Jota, Wolves

There are perhaps no surprises that Jota is No 1 in the Championship so far this season. The Atletico Madrid loanee has been crucial for Wolves with nine goals, four assists, 32 chances created and 60 dribbles completed.
