Wolves' bid of £5m for Derby striker Chris Martin has been rejected, according to Sky sources.

Should Walter Zenga's side put in an improved offer for the striker, he could become the club's sixth signing of the transfer window.

Martin started his professional career at Norwich City where he made 102 appearances and scored 25 goals, and has been loaned out several times.

His first loan was to Luton Town where he scored 11 times in 40 games, and in further spells with Crystal Palace and Swindon he managed eight goals in 28 games.

In January 2013, Martin joined Derby on loan before joining the club permanently that summer on a free transfer. Since the permanent transfer, he's scored 53 goals in 117 appearances.
