Derby County's £2m bid for Andre Wisdom rejected by Liverpool

BIRKENHEAD, ENGLAND - JULY 08: Andre Wisdom of Liverpool during the Pre-Season Friendly match between Tranmere Rovers and Liverpool at Prenton Park on July

Liverpool have rejected a bid from Derby County for defender Andre Wisdom.

Derby's initial offer had a total value of £2m, including add-ons - but the two clubs are still negotiating, and there's a willingness by both sides to get a deal done.

Wisdom was very happy during his loan spell at Derby four years ago and he is keen to return, with Gary Rowett a key factor in that decision.

All that remains is for both clubs to agree a fee and how the payments will be structured.

If Wisdom does join Derby, he would be the club's second signing of the summer following the transfer of Curtis Davies from Hull City.

Wisdom has spent the past four seasons out on loan, with Derby, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and Red Bull Salzburg.

Last season the 24-year-old won an Austrian league and cup double with Salzburg.
