Paul Lambert is unlikely to continue as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers next season because of disagreements over the club's transfer policy, according to Sky sources.

It is understood Lambert is keen to continue in the role that he took over six months ago, but he is unhappy with the role agent Jorge Mendes has in terms of recruitment.

Mendes has a close relationship with Wolves' Chinese owners, Fosun, and brought a number of players to the club last season.

Helder Costa was one of those recruits - and was Wolves' player of the season - but Lambert has voiced his frustrations at the lack of quality among other signings made with Mendes' guidance.
