Liverpool fans have been voted as the Premier League's noisiest - with Manchester United supporters even conceding the Anfield club have their favourite rival song.

The findings were made in a poll of over 4,000 followers of top-flight teams, former players and managers conducted by Barclays and YouGov.

Those surveyed placed Liverpool fans first when they were asked which club had the loudest backing and whose supporters sing the most for their team both at home and away.

Similarly, the Anfield anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' was edged out by West Ham's 'I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles' and Stoke's 'Delilah' as the favourite song sung by fans of other clubs.

Included in those placing Liverpool highest in that respect were Manchester United fans, who were seen as fourth noisiest at home despite previous complaints of a lack of atmosphere at Old Trafford.

The research also found the supporters questioned value playing with heart and commitment more than winning, with 28 per cent opting for the former against 22 per cent for the latter.

More than four out of five fans (81 per cent) said they feel they have a positive influence on live games, with those in the north and Midlands in particular saying they make the biggest difference.
