Ronald Koeman says he'd like to be boss of the Dutch national side one day but insists he's fully committed to his role as Southampton manager

Ronald Koeman insists there he is no way he would leave Southampton to take over the struggling Dutch national team.

The Netherlands are in very real danger of missing out on qualification for Euro 2016 after defeats to Iceland and Turkey left them languishing fourth in Group A.

Danny Blind replaced Guus Hiddink as manager after six matches of their qualifying campaign but that has not led to an upturn in fortunes for the Dutch.

Koeman has been linked with the job but, while he admits it is a role he has ambitions to fill in the future, he insists now is not the time and reaffirmed his commitment to Southampton.

Everybody knows it is part of my ambition, but in the future. Not for now. Not for next year. Maybe in the future but not at this time.

"It is not the best moment for the Dutch national team," Koeman said. "We know that and of course there are always those kinds of rumours.

"Everybody knows it is part of my ambition, but in the future. Not for now. Not for next year. Maybe in the future but not at this time."

When asked if he would listen if approached by the Dutch FA, Koeman said: "No, no. I continue to the last year of my contract."

Meanwhile, the Dutch FA has sought to calm speculation regarding Blind's future by insisting he retains the faith of the association although admitting Blind's position may be reviewed prior to World Cup qualification.

A Dutch FA official told Sky Sports News HQ: "Danny Blind is not facing the sack. He's only been our manager for two games. Despite losing both, we could still qualify for the European Championship finals.

"Blind signed a contract keeping him with us until the World Cup in 2018. Within that contract there is an agreement for him to meet the board of directors after the European qualification period.

"That will still happen in the next couple of months to see if they're still happy with him."
