Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of George Boyd on a free transfer.

The midfielder joins Wednesday on a two-year deal after his Burnley contract expired last week.

Boyd, 31, rejected the offer of a one-year contract extension to remain at Turf Moor in favour of a move to Hillsborough.

He made 39 appearances in all competitions for Burnley last season, scoring twice.

The former Peterborough winger moved to Burnley in 2014 following an 18-month spell with Hull.

Wednesday reached the play-off semi-finals last season, losing out to Huddersfield on penalties.
