Leeds United left-back Charlie Taylor is close to signing for Burnley, Sky sources understand.

Taylor, 23, is out of contract this summer, but Burnley will be required to pay a compensation fee to Leeds due to the player's age.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Taylor has already had a medical and a move to Turf Moor should be completed this week.

Leeds rejected the defender's transfer request last summer as Taylor attempted to force through a move to the Premier League.

The full-back remained part of Leeds' squad under Garry Monk, who resigned at the end of the season, making 29 Sky Bet Championship appearances.

An academy graduate, Taylor has seen peers Sam Byram and Lewis Cook leave for the Premier League over recent campaigns and has been linked with a number of top-flight clubs.
