Burnley have made an £8m offer for Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga, Sky sources understand.
Middlesbrough are also interested in signing Assombalonga, who joined Forest for £5.5m from Peterborough United three years ago.
The 24-year-old, who was born in Zaire before moving to London as a child, has scored 30 times in 47 Sky Bet Championship starts.
Forest manager Mark Warburton said he did not want to sell Assombalonga last week, but did admit that every player "has a price on his head".
Michael Keane's departure to Everton for a record £30m fee will have freed up spending money for Burnley manager Sean Dyche as he looks to ready his squad for the new Premier League season after successfully avoiding relegation.
The Clarets are already closing in on Leeds United left-back Charlie Taylor, according to Sky sources.
