Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri held talks with Leonardo Ulloa on Wednesday over the abusive comments made by the forward's agent, Sky Sports News HQ understands.

Horacio Rossi, Ulloa's representative, branded Ranieri a "liar" and claimed the Italian had broken a number of promises he had made to the Argentine last summer.

Sky sources understand Ulloa has distanced himself from the comments, pointing out that they were not made under his instruction, and Ranieri has accepted his explanation.

Ulloa, who joined Leicester from Brighton & Hove Albion for £8m in July 2014, expressed his desire to leave the Premier League champions last week and has handed in a transfer request.

The Foxes rejected a £9m offer from Premier League rivals Swansea in the summer for Ulloa, who has 18 months remaining on his current contract at the King Power.
