Hull manager Steve Bruce has revealed the club want to sign Hal Robson-Kanu and have already been in talks with the player's brother and father.
Sky sources understand Leicester are among a number of other Premier League clubs interested in signing Robson-Kanu.
The 27-year-old is a free agent this summer after leaving Reading and he starred as Wales reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016, where they were beaten by eventual winners Portugal.
Bruce told Sky Sports News HQ: "We're interested, we'd love to have the conversation with the guy.
"He's had a wonderful tournament but you don't buy somebody on the back of a tournament.
"We've known for years now what a good player he is and he seems to have burst into life going down the middle.
"He's been interesting to watch and of course when he scores the goal the other week [for Wales] there then I'm sure his fees have gone up.
"He's one that we're interested to talk to and we've spoken to his father and his brother and we'll see what progresses."
Robson-Kanu came through the academy at Reading, with loan spells at Southend and Swindon, before establishing himself in the first team, for whom he scored 30 goals in over 200 appearances.
