Hull City's search for the man to replace Marco Silva as manager should be over in the next 48 hours - with Leonid Slutsky favourite for the job, Sky sources understand.
Sky Sports News HQ understands Hull have narrowed the candidates down to a final shortlist and their month-long search for a new boss will be concluded before the weekend.
Former Tigers boss Silva will officially join Watford as their new head coach on a two-year deal from July 1, succeeding Walter Mazzarri at Vicarage Road.
Hull confirmed last month that Silva had activated a clause in his contract which allowed him to leave his position as the club's head coach.
Former CSKA Moscow and Russia coach Slutsky emerged as the favourite to take over at the KCOM after Silva's departure, and revealed in April his desire to become the first Russian to manage in the Premier League in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports.
The 46-year-old added he had the help of "the best agent in the world" in Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who is said to be a mentor and friend to Slutsky, who had been on an extended visit to the UK in his aim to build a career in English football.
