Pontus Jansson moved closer to a permanent transfer to Leeds United after playing his 20th game for the club on Monday.
Jansson is on loan at Elland Road from Torino for the season, and the deal allows Leeds to buy the Sweden defender for around £3.5m once he has made 20 appearances.
That appearance came in their opening game of 2017 against Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United.
The 25-year-old, already a firm favourite with Leeds fans, made his 19th appearance for the club in the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on December 29.
His performances have been vital in the rise of Garry Monk's side, who lie fifth in the Sky Bet Championship and have emerged as genuine promotion contenders.
Jansson has previously said how much he is enjoying life in England and re-iterated that in a New Year's Day message on Twitter.
"Five months ago there were people in Italy who said my knee was never going to be good to play professional football again," he wrote.
"I knew the only thing I needed was a club to believe in me and that club became Leeds.
"I'm so thankful for the way that Leeds gave me a chance and I will never forget that. Leeds will for sure be a part of me for the rest of my life."
