Gillingham and Bolton retained their perfect records after the second round of matches in Sky Bet League One as both secured 2-1 victories.
The Gills won at home to Bury thanks to a sixth-minute strike from Ryan Jackson and Antony Kay's own goal.
Tom Pope pulled a goal back for the Shakers but the home side held out for the three points.
Bolton have settled down well to life in the third-tier of English football following their relegation from the Championship and they too boast a 100 per cent record after they came from behind to win at AFC Wimbledon.
Andy Barcham drilled home the opener for the Dons after 16 minutes but Phil Parkinson's side battled back and drew level through Gary Madine, who equalised before the break.
Wanderers continued to press for the winner and their perseverance was rewarded 20 minutes from time when Liam Trotter was on target to secure maximum points.
But they had to settle for a point after Kieran Agard pulled one back for the hosts a minute later before the same player headed in the equaliser before the break.
Goals from Eggert Jonsson and David Ball either side of half-time had given the Shrimps the lead but the visitors secured a share of the spoils, after Tom Hopper and Kevin van Veen pounced in the space of five minutes, the Dutchman firing a 25-yard shot into the top corner.
Billy Sharp spared Sheffield United's blushes in front of almost 20,000 supporters at Bramall Lane as they salvaged a point in a 1-1 draw with Rochdale.
Andrew Cannon scored for Dale two minutes before the break but with the Blades facing a second straight defeat, Sharp popped up to equalise nine minutes from time.
It also finished 1-1 at The Valley, to leave Charlton searching for their first win of the season after they were held by Northampton.
The Cobblers went ahead courtesy of Alex Revell's 16th-minute header before Johnnie Jackson equalised for the home side early in the second half.
Ched Evans made it two goals in as many league games as Chesterfield kicked off their home campaign with a 3-1 victory against Swindon.
Gary Liddle opened the scoring and Jay O'Shea's penalty extended the Spireites' lead before the break. Evans added another after 66 minutes before Darnell Furlong pulled one back for the Robins late on.
Anton Forrester and Remie Streete were on target as Port Vale earned their first win of the new campaign with a 2-0 victory at Southend.
Jordy Hiwula headed the only goal of the game as Bradford won 1-0 against Peterborough at the ABAX Stadium, while it finished goalless between Coventry and Shrewsbury, with Oldham and Walsall also playing out a 0-0 draw.
