Bristol City have completed the signing of Jamie Paterson from Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a three-year deal at Ashton Gate and will offer head coach Lee Johnson more options in attack as he is able to play off either wing or behind the strikers.

He made 69 appearances in three years at Forest, scoring 14 goals, although he spent most of last season on loan at Huddersfield, scoring six league goals to help them steer clear of relegation trouble.

Lee Johnson told the club's official website: "He's a talented player that I've always admired. I tracked him since his Walsall days and that's come up trumps by bringing him here today.

"I feel this move comes at the right time for Jamie and I look forward to seeing him at Ashton Gate."
