Ajax boss Frank de Boer has hinted he would be interested in speaking to Swansea City about their managerial vacancy.

De Boer admitted he has heard nothing from the Premier League club, who are three weeks into their search for a replacement for Garry Monk, but suggested he would listen to any offer that should come his way.

The Dutchman has more than a year left on his contract with the Eredivisie club, but has previously indicated an interest in moving to the Premier League.

De Boer said: "First you have to see what the plan is at a club and what I and the people I would take with me could add to it.

"The last club I was linked with was Swansea City. I have had no contact with them at this time.

"But what if these people paint me a pretty picture that they are in that category of clubs with which I could do something beautiful? Like clubs such as Tottenham and Liverpool.

"Those are the sort of clubs with which you would want to work. But the most important thing would be the feeling I get."

Swansea have been linked with a number of managers since Monk was dismissed at the start of December, with Marcelo Bielsa apparently at the top of their shopping list in the early stages of the search.

But no deal with Bielsa was forthcoming and Alan Curtis has remained in charge since Monk's departure, leading them to five points in their last three games and three clean sheets.
