Tom Carroll will have a medical at Swansea ahead of a proposed £4.5m switch from Tottenham, according to Sky sources.

The 24-year-old has made only three appearances for Spurs this season, despite extending his contract until 2019 last year, and is the only player expected to leave White Hart Lane this month.

Swansea began talks with Spurs earlier this week, after having him on loan for the season during 2014-15.

New Swans boss Paul Clement confirmed that discussions were taking place in his pre-match news conference ahead of the Premier League clash at home to Arsenal on Saturday.

He also divulged that talks with Norwich were happening over the signing of left-back Martin Olsson, who is also close to completing a move to the Liberty Stadium.

On Friday, Mauricio Pochettino admitted Tom Carroll was set to leave Tottenham, due to a lack of first-team opportunities

Clement said: "The two clubs are talking about that possibility (of signing Olsson). The stage it's at is we are looking to agree the terms.
