Hartlepool's Nathan Thomas is being closely monitored by a number of clubs, with Charlton showing the strongest interest.

The Addicks are hoping to secure a move for the 21-year-old for a fee of around £750,000 when the transfer window opens, according to Sky sources.

But Charlton face competition from Sky Bet Championship clubs Wigan, Wolves, Birmingham and QPR, who have all watched Thomas this season.

Thomas, who started his career at Sunderland, scored his seventh goal of the campaign in Hartlepool's 3-2 defeat to Barnet on Saturday and has caught the eye with his performances in League Two.
