Werder Bremen are interested in signing Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre, according to Sky sources.
The Honduran defender is in his seventh season at Celtic Park but is likely to be playing second fiddle in the left-back berth under Brendan Rodgers due to the emergence and form of 19-year-old Kieran Tierney.
Izaguirre, 30, has featured under Rodgers this season, most recently in the 5-0 Betfred Cup win over Motherwell, and it remains to be seen whether the manager would be prepared to let such an experienced campaigner depart.
The defender quickly became a fans' favourite on his arrival in 2010 with his defensive resolve and lung-bursting forward surges. He won multiple Player of the Year awards in his first year in Scottish football, but suffered a broken ankle at the start of the 2010-11 season.
Nonetheless, he has gone on to play over 200 games for Celtic, winning multiple honours including five consecutive league titles. He has represented his country at two World Cups.
