Hibernian have rejected a £1m bid from League One side Peterborough for striker Jason Cummings, Sky sources understand.
The 21-year-old has scored 18 league goals for the Hibs in each of the last two seasons and signed a new four-year deal earlier this summer.
Cummings came through the ranks at local Edinburgh boys side Hutchison Vale before joining Hearts as a 12-year-old, but after returning to Vale in 2012 he went on to link up with Hibs.
He failed to score a league goal in his first season, when he played 16 times, but Cummings' form picked up in 2014-15 when he found the target 21 times in all competitions and he improved again last season to tally 25 goals.
Peterborough have made six signings already this summer as they look to launch a bid to regain the Championship status they lost at the end of the 2012-13.
They also sold forward Jon Taylor to Rotherham United this week with the Millers breaking their transfer record to sign the 24-year-old for a reported £500,000.
