The Buddies are stepping up their efforts this week to replace Jack Ross, who left the club for Sunderland after securing promotion to the Scottish Premiership, and hope to make an appointment by the start of next week.

Sky Sports News understands former Hearts coach Robbie Neilson has ruled himself out of the running, while Jim McIntyre, previously in charge at Ross County, is among those who will speak to the Paisley club this week.
