Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto is set to turn down a move to Barcelona in favour of a loan deal with Sevilla, Sky sources understand .

Vietto, who joined Atletico from Villarreal last summer, was one of the La Liga champion's primary summer transfer targets as Luis Enrique pursues back up to Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

However, the 22-year-old appears to favour a loan move to Sevilla to play under new manager Jorge Sampaoli.

Vietto scored 18 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions for Villarreal during the 2014/15 season, earning himself a big money move to the Vicente Calderon.

However, he struggled to make an impact under Diego Simeone, scoring just three goals during a campaign which saw him confined to the substitute's bench.

Barcelona could now turn their attentions to Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro as they look to bolster their attacking options.
