Real Madrid and Barcelona meet on Saturday at the Nou Camp, with highlights shown on Sky Sports from 5.15pm.
The hosts dropped six points behind their title rivals last weekend, drawing 1-1 at Real Sociedad, who controlled the game for large periods against Luis Enrique's side.
But Hunter does not expect Real Madrid to dictate the tempo in Barcelona, with Zinedine Zidane's side instead likely to pick their opportunities to attack.
Speaking to Sky Sports Spanish football expert Balague, Hunter said: "We have seen Real Madrid are increasingly comfortable coming to the Nou Camp.
"Zidane is a front-foot coach. He likes to entertain, he likes his team to be risky and daring and that's his proposition. He just hasn't managed to impose it on them yet.
"The common sense thing, particularly with Gareth Bale missing, is they will wait, they will speculate, they will look to dampen down the atmosphere.
"I know you can say after the Real Sociedad game you can go toe-to-toe with Barcelona - but I just don't see Real Madrid doing that."
