Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi has extended his contract until 2021.

The 23-year-old striker who has scored six goals in seven league appearances this season, Icardi joined Inter in 2013 from Serie A rival Sampdoria and was named captain two years later at the age of 22.

Icardi was linked with a move away from the San Siro during the close season with reports suggesting that several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea, were vying for the Argentine's signature.
