Borussia Dortmund are not in negotiations for Germany forward Mario Gomez, according to director of sport Michael Zorc.

Representatives of Besiktas, where Gomez played last season on loan from Fiorentina, claimed the 31-year-old was in talks with Dortmund and Barcelona.

Fiorentina, who still hold the player's registration, are keen to offload their biggest earner this summer, but Zorc says there is no truth to reports he is set to join the Westphalians.

"Maybe he is in negotiations, but not with Borussia Dortmund," Zorc said on Sport1.de.

"We have read about it from the media and it's very interesting, but there is no truth to it."

Gomez was the Turkish league's top goalscorer last season, but he has ruled out returning to Istanbul due to the current security situation there.
