Motherwell winger Chris Cadden has been called up to Alex McLeish's Scotland squad for the end-of-season friendlies against Peru and Mexico.

The 21-year-old is added to the side following the withdrawal of Newcastle winger Matt Ritchie and Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser on Wednesday.

Cadden is uncapped at senior level for Scotland, but has made seven appearances for the U21 side.

He has made 44 appearances for Motherwell this season, scoring four goals, and should feature in the Scottish Cup final against Celtic on Saturday.

He told MFCTV: "I'm speechless. It's a huge honour for me and my family. I told my mum and dad and they got quite emotional.

"It's come out of the blue. It's different-level stuff. I'm just so excited to meet up with the boys and see what it's all about."

McLeish's squad face Peru in Lima on May 29 before travelling to play Mexico on June 2.
