The latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Wednesday, August 2.

Liverpool are targeting a move for Monaco winger and Arsenal target Thomas Lemar as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho. according to the French publication Le 10 Sport.

Coutinho has been constantly linked with a big-money move to Barcelona despite Liverpool's insistence that the Brazilian is not for sale.

However, the report suggests Liverpool have joined Arsenal in the chase for Lemar.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are not interested in a player-plus-cash deal for Coutinho, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Reports coming from Spain this week suggested Jurgen Klopp would be willing to let Coutinho leave Anfield if either Barca midfielders Rafinha or Andre Gomes were included.
