Juventus are confident of completing the signing of Emre Can by the end of the week, according to Sky in Italy.

The 24-year-old midfielder formed a pre-contract agreement with Italy's double-winning side during the January transfer window.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been trying to get Can to stay and extend his deal at Anfield, which expires next month, but it now appears certain the German will leave the Premier League club.

Can came on as a late substitute in Saturday's Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid but had previously not featured since March because of a back injury and was left out of Germany's preliminary World Cup squad.

He was an instrumental part of Liverpool's success this season before the injury, making 37 appearances in all competitions and scoring seven goals.
