Aston Villa get Luton in EFL Cup first-round draw
Wednesday 22 June 2016 14:47, UK
Aston Villa have been drawn away at Luton in the first round of the rebranded EFL Cup.
Villa are the only one of last season's relegated Premier League clubs to enter the old League Cup in the opening round, and the draw pits them against the 1988 winners, who are now in League Two.
Other standout ties in the seeded draw, now split into northern and southern sections, include a London derby between Championship Fulham and League Two Leyton Orient.
Grimsby and Cheltenham return to the competition following last season's promotions from the National League: Grimsby are drawn away to Derby and Cheltenham at home to Charlton.
All ties will be played in the week beginning August 8.
