Adrien Silva would not respond to questions about a move to the Premier League before Portugal's Confederations Cup semi-final against Chile.

The Sporting Lisbon captain has been linked with a move to England in the Portuguese press, with Tottenham among the clubs reported to be interested.

Silva is understood to be available for a fee of £26m after having appeared to be on his way to Leicester City last summer - their deal broke down at the 11th hour.

The 28-year-old has played most of his professional career with Sporting, bar a couple of loan spells with Maccabi Haifa and Academica.

The France-born midfielder, who has 18 caps for Portugal, was asked about his club future at a press conference before his country play for a place in the Confederations Cup final on Thursday in Kazan.
