Garry Monk will remain in charge of Swansea City but the Premier League club are concerned by their recent results, according to Sky sources.

Numerous press reports on Monday claimed former captain Monk was on the brink of being fired after a run which has seen Swansea win just one of their last eight league matches.

Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Norwich saw the club slip to 14th in the table, just five points above the drop zone - however, sources at the Welsh club have told Sky Sports they would be "very surprised" if he was sacked.

The source said Swansea are not a sacking club and dismissed reports the manager has lost the dressing room, but conceded the poor run of form cannot continue.

Monk currently boasts the highest win rate of any Swansea manager in the Premier League with 24 victories from 64 games - six per cent more more Brendan Rodgers and 11 per cent more than former boss Michael Laudrup.

The 36-year-old is now expected to take his place in the dug-out for Swansea's next match against fellow strugglers Bournemouth following the international break on November 21.
