David Prutton's Sky Bet Championship predictions

David Prutton

David Prutton is back with his latest round of EFL predictions, ahead of a bumper midweek in the Sky Bet Championship.

We also have a Soccer Special on Sky Sports News HQ on Wednesday, as well as Newcastle v QPR from 7.30pm on Sky Sports 1 on Wednesday and Huddersfield v Brighton at the same time and place on Thursday.

See who Prutton is tipping in his midweek predictions below...

Newcastle v QPR (Wednesday, live on Sky Sports 1 from 7.30pm)

Even though there were changes, every time a team loses in the manner Newcastle did at Oxford in the FA Cup, it will still have an impact. It reflects on the club.

The next team they put out must right that wrong, that performance and that result. I think it's going to be tough for Newcastle against QPR. We've seen a lot of Ollie's team, and the game against Burton, you'd have thought they would take three points.

I think we'll see a response from Newcastle with a change of personnel, but I think QPR are a tough task. Let's go for a draw.

PRUTTON PREDICTS: 1-1

Blackburn v Leeds (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

It's a similar situation to Newcastle for Leeds, getting beat in the FA Cup having made lots of changes. Maybe it was a way for Garry Monk to show the powers that be that they need some more strength in depth as we head to Deadline Day.

Monk took full responsibility after the loss, but I'm sure he would have told his players in no uncertain terms what is expected of them, and that it wasn't anywhere near good enough. But I still see Leeds winning this.

PRUTTON PREDICTS: 1-2

Burton v Fulham (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

A good win for Burton away at QPR, I just think for Fulham, who dismantled Hull City at Craven Cottage on Sunday, will have too much for the hosts.

Chris Martin, although he hasn't endeared himself to the Fulham fans by signing a new Derby contract, is a big threat creatively and in front of goal.

Early on int he season Burton seemed quite a tough place to go, but I think Fulham go there and win with aspirations of a late top-six surge.

PRUTTON PREDICTS: 0-2

Huddersfield v Brighton (Thursday, live on Sky Sports 1 from 7.30pm)

This will be tough for Brighton, who again were another side losing to lower-league opposition.

Live EFL

Huddersfield, we're seeing a lot of them this season, and they've been fantastic. It's a tough proposition for Brighton, so another score draw for this one.

PRUTTON PREDICTS: 1-1
