Rotherham v Sheff Wed preview: Lee Frecklington battling to be fit as Wednesday look to bounce back

    Rotherham United v Sheffield Wednesday

Rotherham will monitor the fitness of skipper Lee Frecklington for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday, live on Sky Sports 1 on Tuesday.

The midfielder injured his knee and calf during the Millers' 1-0 defeat to Fulham on Saturday, which condemned them to relegation.

Striker Danny Ward is doubtful due to a knock sustained against Fulham and defender Ben Purrington is expected to shake off a dead leg, while midfielder Tom Adeyemi is out with a calf injury.

Joe Mattock, a former Wednesday player, is expected to come back into the team after completing a two-match suspension.

Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri is hoping to be back in contention after missing the last three games due to a knee injury.

But Almen Abdi will play no further part this season after undergoing knee surgery and fellow midfielder Sam Hutchinson will miss out after sustaining a calf injury in Saturday's derby draw at Barnsley.

Highlights of the Sky Bet Championship clash between Rotherham and Fulham

Rotherham are only the fifth second tier side to lose 30 or more games in a season and the first since both Bradford and Wimbledon did so in 2003/04.

There has been at least one 90th-minute goal in each of the last three league meetings between these sides at Rotherham, with Rotherham scoring one and Wednesday scoring three.

    Prutton's prediction

Three points here for Wednesday are absolutely paramount; however, this has the look of a game where already-relegated Rotherham could have a right go. This would put some pride back in the Rotherham shirt if they could beat one of the teams their fans hate the most. Carlos Carvalhal's men are stuttering at the wrong time. The pressure is on. They may stutter once again.

PRUTTON PREDICTS: 2-2 (Sky Bet odds: 25/1)
