Wales v Netherlands preview: Chris Coleman set to experiment
Tuesday 17 November 2015 12:46, UK
Wales manager Chris Coleman is without Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey for the visit of the Netherlands on Friday.
Having qualified for their first major tournament since 1958, Wales had a number of injury concerns in the build-up to their first preparatory match for next summer's Euro 2016.
Coleman was involved in a public spat with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after Aaron Ramsey picked up a hamstring problem in October, but the Wales boss insists his team selection will not be influenced by club concerns.
The Netherlands do not have to worry about next summer's tournament after a dismal qualification campaign. The 2014 World Cup semi-finalists failed to secure a play-off spot after finishing a distant fourth in Group A behind the Czech Republic, Iceland and Turkey.
Team news
Coleman is set to experiment for Wales' first friendly since their 2-0 loss to the Dutch in Amsterdam in June 2014.
Bale (calf) and Ramsey (hamstring) are both absent, as are strikers Hal Robson-Kanu (ankle) and Vokes (groin). Leicester's Tom Lawrence, currently impressing on loan at Blackburn, is expected to make his first start and Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw could also make his senior debut.
Danny Blind will be without Davy Klaassen after the Ajax player left the Netherlands' training camp with a knee problem.
The Netherlands manager is managing the fitness of Arjen Robben, who recently returned from injury, and the Bayern Munich winger will play against Wales before missing his country's second friendly against Germany on Tuesday.
