Jake Buxton will return from suspension for Wigan's home clash with QPR at the DW Stadium.

The defender has missed Latics' past three games since being dismissed against Oldham on his debut and he could be restored to the starting line-up after Gary Caldwell's side shipped four against Nottingham Forest.

Caldwell, whose side had their first midweek off since the season started this week, has reported no fresh injury concerns from last weekend.

Homegrown midfielder Tim Chow joined Ross County this week while Reece James (ankle), Andy Kellett (knee), Kyle Knoyle (elbow) and Donervon Daniels (knee) are all out.

QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has a number of decisions to make after shuffling his pack for the EFL Cup victory over Rochdale.

The Dutchman made eight changes for that game from the side that lost at Preston last weekend and Hasselbaink may yet be tempted to stick with a winning team.

Grant Hall returned from suspension and Ariel Borysiuk was fit again, but the likes of Conor Washington, Olamide Shodipo and Sandro, who scored a brace against Rochdale, could be retained.

Jack Robinson (shin), Jamie Mackie (ankle) and Joel Lynch (abdominal) are all likely to miss out for Rangers.
