MILNER THE MOTM
SOUNESS: LIVERPOOL FABULOUS
Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness: "They were fabulous. It's what I expected. They just blew West Ham away, too much quality, too much energy, the mischief they cause in the final third...
"They were just far too good for West Ham. West Ham got caught in a revolving door and couldn't get out of it."
Speaking on Sky Sports: "Expectation is always there first game of the season. It's a good victory, a pretty good performance, but we can always improve on that. It was a good start all in all.
"The most important thing was to get off with a good start."
And Sadio Mane: "We played great football, created lots of chances and deserved to win. I'm happy to score goals for the team. I think the team was fantastic today, and we now have important games to come. We take it game-by-game."
Huge smile on the face of Klopp at full-time. Not so much Pellegrini, but this wasn't exactly the fixture he would have wanted to open his West Ham account.
LIVERPOOL 4-0 WEST HAM
FT: That's that! A great afternoon for Jurgen Klopp with a heavy weight of expectation over Liverpool. Fantastic performance to open the season after the disappointment of Kiev two-and-a-half months back.
More to come from West Ham, I'm sure, but they were out-fought, out-thought and out-maneuvered.
Full-time highlights in 15 minutes
90+1: Three minutes added on. James Milner is Sky Sports' MOTM; a fantastic performance from the midfielder.
90: Sturridge found in the box again, with his back to goal. He takes a touch and turns well, but his left-footed effort from an angle bobbles into Fabianski's hands.
GOAL! LIVERPOOL 4-0 WEST HAM (Sturridge 88)
Sturridge scores with his first touch! Klopp is chuckling to himself on the touchline, and must be delighted.
Milner with the corner on the left, Snodgrass flicks it on but not away, and Sturridge is there at the back post to turn home under pressure!
Liverpool have four, and Sturridge shows his striker's instinct after just a few seconds!
LIVERPOOL 3-0 WEST HAM
88: Mo Salah milks the applause as he is replaced by Daniel Sturridge for the final couple minutes. A warm applause for the English striker.
86: Shaqiri so close to slipping Keita in through on goal. Slight appeal for a penalty as Keita goes down from Balbuena, but nothing given. Correct.
84: Yarmolenko with a nice ball with the outside of his boot; Alisson beats it clear, when he could have caught it, but thankfully for him no West Ham player is in for the rebound.
82: A young Liverpool fan gets on the pitch, hugs Salah, and gets a huge cheer from the Anfield crowd. He then gets led away by stewards...
Debut for Shaqiri... he replaces Sadio Mane for the final 10 minutes.
80: Nearly another Robertson-Salah special! The Scot gets down the left of the box, squares for Salah, but he's inches away from poking home! West Ham survive, for now. They want a fourth here.
78: Keita receives the ball back post after a Milner cross is cleared, but he makes a complete hash of it, slicing into the West Ham fans behind the goal.
76: West Ham attack as Wilshere wins two fouls. It ends with a Yarmolenko diagonal going over Antonio's head and out of play. Disappointing.
71: Milner clips in a free-kick on the right flank. Wijnaldum nearly gets ahead of his man, but West Ham clear after some pinball.
69: Salah with a Liverpool corner, Mane gets ahead of his man, but glances it over the bar!
Change for Liverpool; Firmino off, Henderson on for the final 20 minutes or so.
65: OUCH! Milner, 20 yards out over the free-kick, sees his effort blocked by Wilshere. Let's just say that hits him in a region you DO NOT want to be hit.
Then, as Firmino rushes in to rebound, his effort hits Noble in the same region! The referee stops play so the West Ham physio can come on, although I'm not sure how they can help!
63: Mane makes Balbuena commit, and brings him down on the edge. He's already been booked, and that really should be a second!
60: Gomez has also done well. Arnautovic works hard to get inside the box, tries to wriggle free, but Gomez keeps with him superbly to block. Great play.
58: Robertson has had a superb game. Snodgrass gets it out to Anderson, but the Scot dispossesses him with ease before starting another attack.
56: This time the offside flag does go up against Alexander-Arnold. Anfield very loud at the minute; they've seen a superb display so far.
West Ham fans won't want to see this... Mane was clearly offside.
GOAL! LIVERPOOL 3-0 WEST HAM (Mane, 53)
It's probably game over for West Ham, but they're unlucky here.
Firmino has it 25 yards out, and slips in Mane just inside the area. He controls it well, finishes it even better into the bottom left corner with his right foot, as West Ham complain.
Replays show he was about a yard off from Firmino's pass! West Ham furious, but the goal stands!
LIVERPOOL 2-0 WEST HAM
52: That's a booking Antonio for going in quite over-zealous on Alexander-Arnold. West Ham noticeably pressing more second half.
49: Van Dijk, on the stretch, clears for a corner from Anderson's cross. Cheap corner to give away.
CHANCE! Anderson gets near post from Snodgrass' ball, flicks it across goal, and Antonio can't convert! The ball was slightly behind him, but a big chance for West Ham!
47: Robertson caught on his heels as Mane plays him in on the left. Fredericks gets there early. Quiet start to the half.
46: Back under way at Anfield, with Robert Snodgrass replacing Declan Rice for West Ham.
HT PRICE BOOST
How about Salah & Firmino to combine for a goal? We've gone 6/1 on that in the second half. A Salah hat-trick is 7/1, a Mane brace is 11/4 & Firmino to score the next goal is 6/1.

Liverpool really needed that second goal, and it came at the perfect time. They've been well on top, and despite a few sniffs at goal for the visitors, they fully deserve a two-goal cushion.
The Hammers have played so high at times, and Mane and Salah have punished them rightly. More to come?
GOAL! LIVERPOOL 2-0 WEST HAM (Mane 45+2)
West Ham have shot themselves in the foot, and Liverpool will be absolutely delighted with the timing of this goal.
Robertson has it on the left, finds Milner at the far post, with West Ham's defence pushed up so high again.
Milner slides in to cross for Mane, and despite ball being slightly behind him, he slots into the empty net! Fabianski stands there with his arms outstretched, as if to say: 'What are we playing at?!'
LIVERPOOL 1-0 WEST HAM
45+1: One minute added, and West Ham have a corner.
Wilshere takes, but superbly headed away by Firmino ahead of Ogbonna.
45: Mane flicks the ball on for Salah, who was already on the move a second before! He so nearly gets there inside the box ahead of Fabianski, but the goalkeeper does well to gather.
43: Liverpool's approach has been admirable; fluid in possession and plenty of energy off the ball. But how long will it last? We saw this sort of start so many times last season.
41: Alexander-Arnold's deep cross should be fine for Fabianski, but he gets caught under it and has to flick it clear, before keeping it in play outside of his box and clearing up the pitch. A tad nervy from the debutant.
39: CHANCE! And again! How have Liverpool not scored here?!
Salah is found six yards out after Firmino centres from inside the box. Salah takes it first time, it's bread and butter for him, but Fabianski stands up well to block!
37: CHANCE! And they do.
Milner flicks it to Mane on the left, and his cross is inch-perfect for Salah. He gets ahead of his man, but has a lot to do, and doesn't quite catch the header. Fabianski collects.
36: West Ham playing far deeper now. Liverpool play in front of them on the edge, and a pass goes awry from Wijnaldum to Mane. Momentum lost a tad, but we know they can get it back in an instant with this front three...
34: Liverpool not moving the ball as quick as they were early on, and Arnautovic has given them a few warning signs.
Salah fights with Masuaku on the right byline, but the West Ham man shepherds it out well.
32: Liverpool fans furious with Taylor now! The ball hits Ogbonna on the shoulder... The Kop think it's hit him in the arm, and both Taylor and his assistant say no. Completely the correct decision.
30: Nearly a bizarre leveller for West Ham! Referee Anthony Taylor accidentally steals the ball off Wijnaldum, and Arnautovic has the chance to shoot on the half volley from 20 yards.
It drifts wide, and Liverpool are fuming with Taylor!

28: CHANCE! Alarm for Liverpool. Gomez is ball-watching as Arnautovic is found from very deep by Masuaku, but his effort from an angle is deflected just wide!
Anderson with the corner, Balbuena gets up well, but the header is straight at Alisson!
27: CHANCE! Keita has the ball in the box and tries to pile drive his way through. He can't quite get it under control but Wijnaldum does... though he's stretching on his left foot when he shoots. It's horribly wide, but a definite chance.
25: SAVE! Or a chance to have a go at goal!
Alexander-Arnold steps up, around 25 yards out, and curls one top left corner. Fabianski dives up high and diverts it wide! Milner's corner then comes to nothing.
