Stale Solbakken says taking Championship jobs is 'stupid'

FC Copenhagen boss Stale Solbakken was formerly in charge of Wolves but it is safe to say he does not fancy another crack at the Sky Bet Championship.
The 48-year-old, who spent six months in charge at Molineux in 2012/13 before he was sacked after 30 games, says the Championship is "brainless" and that one would have to be "stupid" to take a job there.
The Norwegian is now preparing for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Leicester, but discussed him time at Wolves during his pre-match press conference.
Walter Zenga was sacked by the midlands club last week after just 17 games at the helm. Terry Connor lasted 13 games and Dean Saunders then lasted 20 games, and neither stay was longer than Solbakken's.
"I am one of the longest there now, I am getting better," Solbakken said.
"If you are so stupid to take a job there then you have to take the blame. I wouldn't have done it again.
"This is not a [ex-Wolves owner] Steve Morgan conference, but I'm happy not to look into his iPad to watch players.
"It's a difficult league to manage in. When the crowd are managing many of the games, they want to see chances.
"I have seen so many brainless Championship games, both live and on the bench."
Copenhagen are joint-second in Champions League Group G, five points behind runaway leaders Leicester, following a 1-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium last month.
"When it is a home game, we maybe have to risk something more than we did in some periods at their stadium," Solbakken said. "We controlled the game, but maybe we had to risk something more.
"But their counter ability is such that our way with dealing with that has to be improved.
"We know we have had many historic nights in the Champions League. We have beaten better teams than Leicester and lost to worse teams."
