Nottingham Forest set for takeover by American businessmen

American businessmen John Jay Moores and Charles Noell are close to completing a takeover of Nottingham Forest, Sky sources understand.
Moores is the former owner of Major League Baseball franchise San Diego Padres, and has shown interest in the past in buying both Everton and Swansea.
The deal, which could be completed within a month, is at "an advanced stage" and is worth around £50m.
Current owner and chairman Fawaz al Hasawi had initially stated he wanted to maintain a 20 per cent stake in the club in the event of any deal to sell Forest but it's now thought he is prepared to walk away, maintaining no interest at the City Ground.
Some Forest supporters chanted and displayed posters against Al Hasawi during Saturday's game at Reading, which they lost 2-0.
Forest have won just once in their last 10 Championship matches, a run that has seen them slip to 20th in the table, one point above the relegation zone.
