Preston are reviewing CCTV footage to try to identify a fan who allegedly threw a coin onto the pitch during their game against Newcastle United.

Magpies defender DeAndre Yedlin claimed he was hit in the face by a 20p coin whilst being treated for an accidental head collision during Saturday's game at Deepdale.

The incident happened towards the end of the match, which was won 2-1 by Newcastle with Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring twice for the visitors.

Yedlin wrote on Twitter: "Hard fought battle today…good to come away with another three points" he added "and to whoever threw the coin at me, thanks for the 20p".
